AC Milan is weighing up a last-minute move for former Manchester United winger Memphis Depay, according to reports in Italy.
Depay failed to make the grade at Man Utd after moving from PSV in 2015, only managing to score seven goals in 53 appearances. The winger was often criticized for his extravagant lifestyle during his one-and-a-half years at Old Trafford, something which he has been keen to play down the significance of. Since leaving United, he has turned a new leaf, becoming a consistent performer for Lyon. In total, he has scored 39 goals in 115 appearances for the Ligue 1 club so far – but that tally could come to an end if Milan makes a deadline day move, as Tuttosport expects them to.
Milan has been chasing Atletico Madrid forward Angel Correa all summer, but have found difficulties in reaching his €50m price tag. Therefore, Tuttosport (via Calciomercato) warn that they may have to switch to a Plan B before the European transfer window shuts on Monday.

As things stand, they are just thinking about Depay – who was denied a Premier League return with Everton this summer – so will have to move quickly if they are to make an official bid for the Dutch winger in time.
Depay’s contract expires in 2021, whereas Correa has a long-term contract at Atletico until 2024, and it appears his desire is to stay there – meaning Milan may be wise to turn their focus to the former Man Utd flop.
